Brazil & Ethiopia Blended Coffee Beans - The Clubhouse Coffee Blend

The Clubhouse Coffee is a very special coffee blend that we created in partnership with a local charity, The Clubhouse Project. Simon’s daughter and Matt’s sister, Chrissie, was born with Downs Syndrome, and The Clubhouse Project has been a place where she has grown, developed new skills and had a fantastic time hanging out with her friends.

50p of every bag sold will be donated to The Clubhouse Project, which directly goes towards providing services and activities for the young adults.

The Coffee
The blend is a combination of Ethiopian and Brazilian Peaberry beans, which creates a really versatile, sweet tasting coffee that tastes amazing in a variety of brewing methods (particularly using our Aeropress recipe!). Expect notes of milk chocolate and marshmallow.

Packed and supplied in 100% biodegradable resealable bags and available for you to buy online as whole beans for you to grind yourself, we've also made our Clubhouse Coffee available to purchase as freshly ground coffee in coarse, medium or fine.

The Clubhouse Project

Worthy Of Consideration

I only drink black coffee, usually espresso plus hot (but not boiling) water and so have no experience of this coffee with milk. I use a Sage Oracle Touch and so can vary the grind, brewing temperature and brewing time.
With this coffee, I found that I had to play around with the grind setting and brewing time to get the optimum settings, perhaps more so that with the two other coffees I have bought from Copper before. I had to make changes to the grind/brew time almost constantly as I worked my way through my 1kg bag. The beans varied quite a bit is size, from "normal" down to relatively small beans which reminded me of black peppercorns for their size and shape. Perhaps this variability in bean size accounted for me having to play around with the grind/brew time. For the other types of beans bought, once I had found the "right" settings, they were good for the whole 1kg bag.
The coffee itself was nice but a little acidic/fruity for me as I prefer nuts and chocolate notes. Some brews were better than others and I enjoyed the coffee overall.
So, a bit of an effort but worthwhile overall. Not my most loved but very much worth a try if you haven't dabbled before. Good luck and good tasting!
