Ethiopia Limu | Speciality Coffee Beans

Ethiopia is the largest African producer of coffee beans, and is considered by many to be the birthplace of coffee over 1,000 years ago. The coffee plant “coffea arabica” originates from Ethiopia, and today accounts for over 60% of coffee production worldwide.

The coffees in Ethiopia are all named after the geographic location where they grow. Limu coffee beans grow in the south-west of Ethiopia at high altitudes of between 1500m and 1900m.

Our Ethiopia Limu has an excellent SCA score of 83.75, and cupping notes of chocolate, blackberry, and orange. This amazing coffee that can easily be brewed in a variety of methods, but we think it’s best suited to an Espresso or Moka Pot.

Packed and supplied in 100% recyclable bags and available for you to buy online as whole beans for you to grind yourself, we've also made our Ethiopian Limu coffee available to purchase as freshly ground coffee in coarse, medium or fine.

Top Beans from East Africa

Before I started buying coffee beans, I thought South America made the nicest coffee, but not true. Two of my favourites are from Africa - a brilliant Rwandan bean and this lovely stuff from Ethiopia. Really smooth taste either as a latte or espresso.

Ethiopian coffee is my favourite and Limu is one of them. It is chocolaty with a touch of berry. It has become one of my regular orders.
