Brazil Monteiro Lobato - Speciality Coffee Beans
The Rio Pardo region sits between Mogiana and South Minas, two of Brazil’s most celebrated coffee-growing areas. With its mix of altitude, climate, and fertile soils, Rio Pardo produces coffees that are well balanced, medium bodied, and layered with chocolate sweetness, nutty undertones, and a touch of stone fruit. Farmers here focus on traditional methods and sustainable practices, helping preserve the biodiversity that surrounds their farms.
Monteiro Lobato is a signature blend created by Ocafi, drawing on lots from neighboring farms around Fazenda Pinheiro. Each lot is chosen for its flavor profile, bean density, and uniformity, ensuring consistency in the cup. The natural process begins with 12 days of sun-drying on patios, followed by 10 hours in mechanical dryers for precise moisture control. Finally, the beans rest for 15 days in wooden Tulhas, where they stabilise and develop their complexity. The result is a coffee that reflects both the character of Rio Pardo and the care of its producers—smooth, balanced, and consistently delicious.
