Colombia has strong roots in the coffee industry, as it was once the world’s largest producer of washed coffee beans. Annually, Colombia exports approximately 12.5 million bags and consumes 2 million bags internally. Coffee beans are produced in three main geographical areas, trisected by the Andes mountain range.

This is the decaffeinated version of our speciality Colombian coffee beans, which are decaffeinated by the renowned Swiss Water® Process. Swiss Water® is the innovative craft of using pure water to gently remove caffeine. The 100% chemical free process decaffeinates coffee in small batches.

Excelso Colombian Decaf coffee beans are large with a screen size of 15-16, second only to the Supremo bean with a screen size of 17. Colombian coffee is graded before shipment according to bean size, and Excelso beans accounts for the greatest volume of coffee exported from Colombia.

They are medium-dark roasted, producing a strong coffee with notes of red apple, caramel and chocolate. It’s a versatile coffee that can easily be brewed in a variety of methods, including a French Press, V60, AeroPress and Moka Pot.

Was Very Impressed

My wife asked me to get her some decaffeinated coffee beans for her. Since we both love good coffee I struggled to find some quality beans. Well that was until I discovered Copper Coffee! I purchased my first bag of beans with trepidation as the last time I drunk any decaf coffee it tasted of dirty dish water. These beans, however, are in a whole different universe - they are awesome! Even I, who is a self-confessed caffeine junkie will happily drink coffee made from them. They have an awesome aroma backed up with a really great taste and my wife loves them! We have and will continue to buy more bags when the current bag runs out. Highly recommended!
